Conference confirmed at CLAIB&CBEB 2022
Dr. Ratko Magjarevic, from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Zagreb, Croatia will present the conference "Wearable Health Technologies for Monitoring of Elderly" at CLAIB&CBEB 2022. As the population of elderly people increases, so do the concerns and demands for more quality of life, health and physical, emotional and psychological well-being of this population. Dr. Ratko's research is focused on minimizing the obstacles to personalized health risk assessment by optimizing the characteristics of wearable wireless sensors, sensor networks for remote patient monitoring, and information transfer within the network. Dr. Ratko has taught at the universities of Trieste, Ljubljana and Bogota, Colombia for many years, has published more than 80 papers in journals and conference proceedings, several editorial books, book chapters and encyclopedia citations, and has delivered more than twenty invited lectures at major international conferences.
Special event confirmed at CLAIB&CBEB 2022! a conversation about gender and race representation in science and technology disciplines.
A special panel discussion exploring the experiences and perspectives of women engineers on race and gender representation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers. This is the theme of the panel discussion "Role Models in STEM: A Conversation on Gender and Race Representation", organized by Dr. Virgínia Laura BALLARIN (current president of the IFMBE Women in MBE Committee. and Professor of the Department of Electronics and Computing at the Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata, Argentina), with the participation of Dr. Bruna Arruda OLIVEIRA, from the University of Mar del Plata, Argentina. Bruna Arruda de OLIVEIRA (Fellow Professor of the Engineering course at Insper, SP, Brazil, where she coordinates the Diversity and Accessibility Committee and the Black Foxes Student Collective), Dr. Natalia LOPEZ CELANI (President of the IEEE Argentine Chapter and Professor of the Biomedical Department at Universidad Nacional de San Juan. Argentina), and Dr. Martha ZEQUERA DIAZ (Professor, Dept. of Electronics, Universidad Javeriana, Colombia).
We will discuss and learn about "Scientific Rigor, Reproducibility and Data Management in Non-Clinical Research" at CLAIB&CBEB 2022
The WORKSHOP "Rigor, Reproducibility, and Data Management in Nonclinical Research" at CLAIB&CBEB 2022, is confirmed, which will present and discuss the factors contributing to low research reproducibility and practical insights on how to improve research reliability and quality, with concrete examples from the literature and experiences of the speakers, as well as the use of tools and approaches to improve the experimental process and ensure best practices in daily laboratory work. The Workshop was organized by Drs. Björn Gerlach (Operational Director of the Partnership for the Assessment and Accreditation of Scientific Practice (PAASP GmbH) and member of the society "Guarantors of EQIPD (Enhancing Quality in Preclinical Data, Germany), Dr. Renza Roncarati (PAASP network and independent consultant, Italy), Dr. Malcolm Macleod (Professor of Neurology and Translational Neuroscience and Academic Lead for Research Improvement and Research Integrity at the University of Edinburgh, UK, and Dr. José Marino Neto (Researcher at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (IEB-UFSC) - Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil.
